From the beautiful cover art, which Mr. Stone Michaels conceived and executed himself, to the smooth and deep, southern free verse peppering "Defining Atlas", this book can only be described as flavorful and in good taste. I really liked the tone of the book. I especially liked the poem called "The Mississippi I Knew". That poem in particular made me yearn to experience the southern charm and culinary expertise of the South, south of the Mason Dixon Line- from the sweet melons to the "queens rising". The poem framed a colorful Mississippi I enjoyed vicariously though the words of another. My brother, all Mr. Michaels nearly seventy-five poems are worth a gander. Many of them are worth at least a second read, to savor the flavor. I look forward to Mr. Michaels's sophomore work, his freshman work was so well done! Bravo!Product details

A outstanding book! You will not put it down once you start reading it!
Michaels' book of poetry is a dizzying array of meditations on a variety of subjects. His verse is very spiritual, and looks at the human experience from a variety of points of view. The deep south, the military, love of women, attraction, the problems of human desires for the glory of success or the shame of failure, and the day to day experiences of normal human life. Michaels seeks to find a way to unite people in their different perspectives, and make us all a part of a grander reality far greater than ourselves. His book is definitely worth the read.

A very inspirational book. Read it cover to cover. Love how he incorporated faith and God into his poems.
